Build Your Team & Bring It On!

General Mills challenges Cargill?  IT vs. accounting?  Orono against Westonka?  Which tri club walks the walk and which one just talks?  Will the Painter's Creek Piranha defend their 2007 title?  Get your teams together and settle it on the tri course as you battle for the team trophy in the adult, youth or family class!

We are adding an additional team concept to the 2011 TriTonka Triathlon.  In the past, we have experienced great success with standard team scoring for those who wanted to participant and enhance their competitive experience, so this year we will unveil a family team concept.   While we will continue to have team scoring in our adult and youth races, family teams will be allowed to compete across the adult and youth races.  This means a team comprised of parents and their children can race in their respective races and any places will contribute toward a cumulative team score.  Not to be confused with a relay, every member of every team will do the entire event and score points for placing as such:
First = 10 points
Second = 8 points
Third = 6 points
Fourth = 4 points
Fifth = 2 points
Sixth = 1 point
First tie breaker is highest average score, i.e. Total Team Points / Total Team Members.
Second tie breaker is lowest average team race time, i.e. Total Team Time / Total Team Members.
If not enough teams score points to fill out first, second and third, the tie breaking methods will be used to determine those place winners.
Of course, racing solo is still our mainstay!

Camp Kingswood Map

Camp Kingswood is where the adults will check-in on Sunday morning, and from where the swim will launch.  The driveway to access the camp, is just to the right of the bike transition area in the upper right-hand corner of the map.  You can see the pavilion at the center right of the map.  Parking is allowed at the sides of the driveways and in the pastures.  Please park orderly, as we are not sure how much space we will need!  Use Game Farm Circle just to the east for alternate parking.  Please do not park on Game Farm Road.  The swim starts at the Camp Kingswood Beach, which is on the point, down and to the left of the pavilion.  It will angle toward the beach across the lake, turn and angle toward the boat launch at the transition area--see faint line on map.

Volunteer Opportunity

For the adult race on Sunday morning, we need 4 to 6 small watercraft to serve as safety islands during the adult swim in Little Long Lake.  Practically any small craft will work and Little Long Lake does have a 10 HP motor maximum.  Boats will need to launch by 6:30 AM and the swimmers should be done by 8:30 AM.

New Sponsor Of The 2011 TriTonka Triathlons!

Pedal Wild of Spring Park, has agreed to sponsor the 2011 TriTonka Triathlons by allowing us to sell monthly fitness packages that allow the holder unlimited access to the studio during that timeframe!  These packages have a retail value of $89, but will be available from MW-HF Swim & Dive team members and boosters for just $49.  The profit margin on these certificates will go directly to our fundraiser's bottom line.  Great for gifts, great for yourself, great for the Swim & Dive Team!
